El Gato Immortal was a piece of r/place 2023 art initially featuring Buddy (also known as the Omniliberal character) that was mistakenly interpreted as a cat by Rubius' 
community, who was attempting to blot over a piece of artwork of Buddy with a black void.[1]
The two communities fought for some time until Destiny and Rubius eventually got into a discord call, in which Destiny explained that he was in fact the owner of El Gato Immortal and proffered a peace treaty to the endless war, as well as allowing for Rubius to run a tentacle through the upper left corner of the early drawing.[2]

- The artwork is directly next to the site of the K9/11 tragedy.
- It is often incorrectly thought that Rubius dubbed the artwork as El Gato Immortal, when in fact Destiny added the 'immortal'.
