On November 9, 2025, Hasan Piker flew to China 
for what would become a widely criticized propaganda tour, during which time he provided uncritical praise for the country's political and economic systems while downplaying its authoritarian practices and human rights abuses. [1]
CCP Handlers
Throughout the trip, Hasan alluded several times to "handlers" who guided Hasan to various areas of China for him to cover on camera, along with his State Sponsored guide who would provide a "history"/intro to the area.[2] [3]
Tiananmen Square Incident
On November 10, 2025, Hasan was detained and questioned by local authorities in Tiananmen Square for having a meme of his face on Mao Zedong. Following the incident, Hasan defended the police officer who accosted him, arguing that the officer was justified in racially profiling and questioning him. He claimed the officer was simply ensuring that no foreigners influenced by "American propaganda" would cause disruptions in Tiananmen Square (e.g., mocking Mao Zedong). In his defense of the cop, Hasan would go on to state that "the further west you go, the worse cops get." [4]

Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Visit
On November 16, 2025 Hasan, while streaming on Bilibili with a Chinese filming crew, visited and toured a traditional Chinese medicine hospital.
The hospital had banners and signs specifically welcoming Hasan and the "doctor" conducting the tour had three cameras filming the segment. The entire visit revolved around pseudoscientific demonstrations, including chiropractic-style manipulations, and even a choreographed dance routine performed by hospital staff.
This tour coincided with a recent push by the CCP to promote traditionalist Chinese medicine in recent years.
Interview with CGTN
On November 18, 2025, Hasan sat down with CGTN correspondent Li Jingjing in Beijing to discuss his China trip. CGTN is a state-run news network funded by the Chinese government. The overall goal of the interview was to allow CGTN to use Hasan as a "Western Validation vector".

Hasan's propaganda tour was widely criticized online, and drew severe criticism from individuals arguing that the content creator acted as a mouthpiece for a regime committing atrocities. [14]
