PEPE

PEPE is a notorious emote used by extremely cool chatters who think anime is bad. All PEPE posters are well adjusted and have healthy social lives.

YEE vs. PEPE

Main Article: YEE vs PEPE

For as long as time has been a concept, YEE and PEPE have been at war. It leads to harsh words, violence, and ultimately culminates in things like the 2020 YEE vs PEPE Olympics to prove which side was better. Ultimately, the competition didn't matter because PEPE lost as it was clearly rigged.

Origins

PEPE originated as a character in a cartoon book that was co-opted by nazis as a symbol. However, much like the N-word, it has been reclaimed, but unlike the N-word and is now used almost exclusively for good.

Uses

PEPE is the eight most common emote posted in DGG chat.

PEPE WINS

Frequently, PEPE posters will demolish YEE-tards in chat by seeing who can get either:

  • The highest combo count
  • The most PEPE or YEE emotes sprawled across the chat

When the battle is over, PEPE posters all spam "PEPE WON" or a variation thereof, while the YEE posters cry at their keyboards and state that they never lose.

PEPE

More often, PEPE is used to signal something that is racist, homophobic, transphobic, antisemitic, etc. by either responding to something someone said on stream, e.g. If Nick Fuentes starts talking about or referencing holocaust denialism, chat might respond by posting just the PEPE emote, or something looking like:

Chatter: >JUST ASKING QUESTIONS BTW

Notable PEPE posters

Naturally, since PEPE is the better emote, it is used more often and by more prominent individuals, such as:

Person % of PEPE usage
(compared to YEE)
Extremism
Dan 100% PEPE Extremist
Destiny 90.9% PEPE Extremist
RightToBearArmsLOL 84.6% PEPE Extremist
Cake 81% PEPE Extremist
Jstlk 100% PEPE Extremist
Ragepope 100% PEPE Extremist
wickedsupreme 100% PEPE Extremist

Notable Controversies

Attempted Dinosaur Extinction

It is rumored that a PEPE poster was behind the attempted mass extinction of the dinosaurs

Anti-PEPE sentiment

"PEPE is a WINNER"

Pepe is known to have won a few fan related polls leading to multiple instances of username change to Dunning-Kruger.
A few quick battles give frogs a gigantic sense of egotism while the war has not yet subsided.

"PEPE WINS 2024"

The year 2024 has not yet arrived. Pepe is not registered for any election ballot. While it is plausible for the Pepe emote to 'win' in some future poll or community event, it has not been demonstrated to 'win' 2024 as a whole -or 2023 for that matter.

"PEPE WINS"

Individual perspective is subjective. Unless objectively verifiable with receipts -this claim can be dismissed on face value. Depending on how you view success, winning and/or the parameters of the comparison, Pepe may lose

Pepe wins at sucking dino d*ck!

This example will be seen as controversial/insulting to most Pepe posters. Some frogs may enjoy literally sucking Yee d*ck but as a general statement, Pepe to 'win' needs a clarifying noun to have coherence.

"PEPE wins everytime there is a PEPE vs Y*E Countdown"

Claim fails to account for multiple variables and has never shown any control for this 'countdown' challenge. Countdown efforts skew towards Yee as the Pepe posters go to sleep.
Dino posters, while lower in overall emote count, post consistently through the day/night -not hindered by bedtime/homework.

"The Majority of chat is PEPE"

What some see as a Majority of Pepe in Dgg, others can access further details that factor in.
Statistics point to a very vocal but minority of users actively supporting Pepe.

"Pepe is always massively used more than the dino"
