Background
The College Democrats of America is the official college-outreach arm of the Democratic National Committee , with a membership of over 100,000 students across U.S. chapters. Its 2026 Summer Convention was held in Washington, D.C., from July 17 to July 19, 2026, and was billed as gathering more than 500 student organizers.[3]
On Friday, July 17, just hours before the convention opened, the organization announced Hasan Piker as a "surprise speaker."[4][5]
The Barring
Upon arriving at the convention, Destiny was turned away once he revealed his identity at the door. In an X thread, he names the official who refused him as Cameron Landin, the CDA's Executive Vice President. Destiny claims Piker had texted Landin directly to demand the group be kept out.[1]
