Brian Tyler Cohen—sometimes self-referentially shortened to BTC, leading to him jokingly being called Bitcoin by DGG—is primarily known for his work as one of the largest Democratic news commentators on YouTube, as well as his career as an actor and producer.
He is known for blending professional and rant-style rhetoric on his YouTube channel covering federal domestic politics and politicians. He almost exclusively aims his ire toward Republican and right-wing absurdity, along with double standards that exist in the media environment that allow them to get away unscathed in the court of public opinion, something that he vowed to actively fight against in a more pointed way since the 2024 presidential election. Turning toward an "everywhere all the time" media strategy, he started a Twitch channel to try to expand reach where it was seen as sorely lacking in the liberal ecosystem circa 2024. This overall mentality and approach spread (or independently came) to several other notable liberal commentators trying to bolster liberal political media, including Destiny, Pondering Politics, and Pisco.
As of November 19th, 2024, Cohen has appeared on Destiny streams for long discussions related to United States domestic policy, the media climate, and the 2024 presidential election.
