WEOW

From Destiny Wiki
Revision as of 20:09, 4 September 2025 by Devonnn (talk | contribs) (Rare variants)

WEOW is an emote depicting Destiny's face in black-and-white. The name is a reference to Destiny frequently saying "weow" ('wow' with an e).

Use

The emote is typically used spammed whenever Destiny says "weow", when chatters perform "Gold WEOW checks," in which they attempt to post a golden WEOW, or similarly state that something will happen if they post a gold WEOW (e.g. Destiny goes live if gold ).[1][2] Chatters often express confusion at the purpose of the emote.[3][4]

Rare variants

On September 22 2023, several variants of WEOW were added, to include bronze, gold, platinum, emerald, and diamond, at increasing rarities.[5][6] Less than a day later, on the 23rd of September, following constant spam and provocation, RTBA removed the coloured WEOW variants after several rounds of nuking them.[7]

WEOW was the only emote utilizing this rare variant system until glorp was introduced to DGG Chat.

Current

Probability-based
Gold WEOW Has a roughly 5 in 10,000 (.05%) chance in occurring. Additionally, the chat's Bot always has gold WEOWs. Before the nerf, you had a roughly 1% chance to post a golden WEOW.

Since the WEOW nerf, many chatters believe that God has forsaken the Daliban and removed the rare variant from his faithful.

Diamond WEOW A (roughly) 1 in 100,000 (0.001%) chance of you posting at the right time, roughly the same probability of finding a two-headed animal. Sometime before August 31, 2025, you had a 1 in 1,000,000 chance, equivalent to flipping tails 20 times in a row.
Rainbow WEOW A 1 in 1,000,000 probability variant that alternates color and glow in the fashion of a rainbow.
User-based
Platinum WEOW Removed as a rare variant on 01 July, 2025. The emote is now given to cyver [Rustle] whenever he posts a WEOW.
Total WEOW Death The RTBA variant of the WEOW emote to reflect his distaste for the emote, as well as his proclivity to nuke the emote.[8][9]

Past

Probability-based
Bronze WEOW Bronze WEOWs are no longer a rare variant. During their brief stint, they had 1 in 10 (10%) chance in occurring.
Platinum WEOW Platinum WEOWs are no longer a rare variant as of 01 July, 2025. They had a roughly 1 in 1,000 (0.1%) chance in occurring. Exclusive to cyver.
Emerald WEOW Had a roughly 1 in 100,000 (0.001%) chance in occurring. You had a better chance of being struck by lightning in your life than typing an emerald WEOW. The emote was removed sometime before August 31, 2025.
Miscellaneous
Angel WEOW An angel variant of WEOW. Unknown what is current/former use might be.
