cantclosevim (AKA vim, cantstayawake) is a communist/Marxist-Leninist[1] who started watching Destiny in 2015.[2] He is a chatter with much controversy surrounding him, but was formerly a very popular conductor and memer (he made the Keffals manifesto intro). His streams nearly exclusively had music by the band "Oasis" and it became a meme. He once fell asleep during a moobie stream and was renamed as "cantstayawake" by RightToBearArmsLOL. He seems to enjoy picking fights with dggers, especially over international affairs as there are lots of Ukranian, NATO, and Taiwan supporters in chat that disagree with him.

Notable Positions

  • Anti-voosh.[3]
  • Supports a one-party state.[4]
  • Anti free-speech.[5]
  • Believes the People's Republic of China is a socialist state.[6]
  • Believes that modern day Russia is not at all responsible for the atrocities committed by its predecessors.[7]

Last Week on Destiny

From August of 2022 to June of 2023, vim maintained Last Week on Destiny, a comprehensive list of timestamped Destiny VODs.

Notable Enemies

  • DariusIRL, who has trashed vim on his stream numerous times.
  • ThatLuckyCamper, a common debate opponent in dgg chat, usually over Taiwan and China

Controversies

Controversies Description
Bet on Ukraine On June 23rd, 2023 vim agreed to a bet about whether or not Wagner troops would be fighting Russian troops during their rebellion.[8][9] Vim disputes that he lost the bet,[10] as he says the bet was only surrounding the length of the rebellion, and not for the simple fighting of Wagner vs Russian troops.[11] Most chatters seem to think he is delusional and has indeed lost the bet.[12]
Doesn't Like Oasis Despite playing the music a ton, he claims to not actually like it .
Sounds like ThatLuckyCamper Due to being a foreigner in an American chatroom, vim is often mixed up with ThatLuckyCamper as they both have noticeable acccents.[Note 1]

The Special Military Operation into Brazil

On the 26th of September 2023, after months spent arguing daily with other chatters about the Russo-Ukrainian war, vim made several controversial statements about Ukrainian Ana, including calling her a 'banderite whore' and advocating for her to be gang-raped by Russian soldiers[13]. The following day, Destiny initiated a special military operation into Brazil, banning vim until 2025[14].

Notes

  1. ThatLuckyCamper disputes this strongly.
