DGG Chat

DGG Chat is a live chat hosted on Destiny.gg to chat about Destiny's stream when he is live, and used for communication between DGG members when he is offline. DGG chat is unique in that it allows for streams across various platforms (Kick, YouTube, Twitch, etc.) and watch along with other DGGers, common favorites include Mr. xQcow, Forsen, DariusIRL, as well as embedded streams (typically movies) conducted by chatters.

Chat Guidelines

Not to be confused with the over-arching Destiny community guidelines.

DGG is meant to be a chatroom, with a unique character not unlike the IRC chats of old. With these rules we seek to preserve this culture, foster a welcoming community, and please Destiny and chatters alike.

The guidelines are simply guidelines, each one is applied at the discretion of the moderation team as to allow for flexibility in the changing environment that is chat. While you should always ask a moderator about your particular case, it is worth noting that some are moderators in name only. This means anything cyver, or JaydrVernanda say is not really the law.

Conducting

The largest set of rules concern conducting, streaming to DGG as a chatter. As a general set of rules:

• Do not stream while Destiny is live.
• Stop streaming if you are streaming and Destiny signals his intent to go live.
• Do not use DGG to harass and/or interact with small/random streamers/communities.
• Do not stream during typical and/or expected stream times.
• Do not stream to chat for your own monetary gain. This means you can NEVER accept money for ANY conducting related activities.
• If you are going to conduct something, be focused, do not simply be a conduit for whatever chat desires at that moment.
• Do not simply put on a video for chat to watch/react, XQC might chair react, but that doesn't mean you, a non-streamer, can do so. If you want to re-stream a particular video, such as one related to destiny, ask for permission from moderation.
• If the content which you want to conduct is not listed here, assume it is not allowed, but feel free to ask moderation about special cases.
• Do not link or embed a streamer from outside the community who is conducting a movie/TV show.
• After conducting time ends, you must cease streaming. For at least a half hour, no form of streaming to chat is allowed.

• Movies are not required to be polled by the current conductor! This does not mean you can't, but if you do makes sure to follow the rules and check out dinkdonk.mov (made by Mitch).
• If you poll, you MUST follow results of a poll. Don't add a movie to a poll that you will not play.
• If you play a TV show outside of the allocated TV show timeslot, you must poll after 2 hours of runtime to continue or not, needing 50% or higher to continue the series or poll other options.
• To officially request a movie, use this Google form.

Cinema Times

• If Destiny has not said he is modifying his typical schedule, see the normal schedule.
• If Destiny goes on vacation for more than two days (no stream exceeding 1-2 hours) in a pre-planned manner, movies will be extended via the vacation schedule.
• In the case that Destiny leaves for a day or two, and he states this in a pre-planned manner, the flaired conductors are allowed to stream up to three movies (shared amongst them) each day he is gone at their preferred time, within the time frame of 11:00AM-10:00PM.

Hate-watching

Feel free to be insane and watch something you hate, but re-streaming any such content is discouraged. Do not re-stream Hasan simply because he is saying crazy stuff and people are watching him in chat. If something crazy is happening and worth watching, then ask a moderator for advice.

Radio

Feel free to share your love of music with other chatters during offline chat, some guidelines apply:

• Do your best to not promote spam.
• Radio should purely be about the music, refrain from showing other forms of content that distract away from the music itself. Thus, anything that could be interpreted as simply playing music in the background is not a "radio" stream. Aim to make the gameplay, music video, graphics, etc. a background for which to inhabit the space around the music.

Games

It is discouraged to stream a game involving collaboration between chat and the conductor, such as Jackbox. If you still decide to do so, limit the session to an hour or less (this limit will apply for an entire 24 hour period on all similar forms).

Debates

This is currently a bit gray, if you wish to hash out a chatroom debate in voice, feel free to stream it, but do not abuse this privilege. If such an event becomes regular, just start streaming for your own chat. Note that live streaming any debate in the Destiny.gg Discord is strictly forbidden.

Linkers

Unlike many online chatrooms, linking in DGG is not only allowed but often time encouraged. As a general rule of thumb, spamming links will get you banned. If you've posted a link once, don't post it again, everyone in chat has probably seen it, and so has Destiny, even if he didn't comment on it.

Posting an irrelevant meme with the misleading tag, e.g. "@Destiny Will you address these allegations? [pipeMemeLink]" will usually come with a ban.

NSFW

Posting NSFW has a long history in DGG, but over the years as Destiny has sought to lessen the "boys club" nature of chat, NSFW posting is heavily discouraged. If you want to post a link that is NSFW, do so sparingly.

• Posting NSFW during stream must be extremely relevant, otherwise expect a ban.

Destiny's chat can be difficult to navigate and use at points if you are trying to do specific things. Thankfully the community has made various sites and scripts to try and help you chatters enjoy the chat more.

Scripts

vyneer.me/utilities	Installed as a userscript, this allows users to have an extended amount of usage out of chat, avoiding nukes, seeing embeds in chat, and being alerted as to whether or not you are typing a banned phrase.
Kickstiny	A semi-official userscript that allows for greater control of the embedded Kick video player after the MultiKick embed was removed from Kick embeds.
Fritz scripts	Userscripts made by Fritz [Rustle] that extend functionality of DGG Chat by shortening links, ignore certain users watching embeds, advanced user ignore, and more.

tena.dev

Mainly a site for monitoring who posts the most of a particular emote or various stats about a user, this site keeps persistent data. /emotes Shows statistics about the various emotes within DGG Chat, namely which emotes have been posted the most and who the top posters of the emote are. Click on a specific emote to get a breakdown of the top 100 posters of the month. /users Provides stats for the top 100 DGG chatters. Also allows you to search for individual chatters.
